How XRPL Airdrops Work
Projects on the XRP Ledger distribute free tokens to XRP holders or trustline holders through airdrops. The process is straightforward: a project takes a snapshot of wallet states at a specific ledger or time, then sends tokens directly to qualifying wallets.
Unlike EVM-based chains where you typically need to visit a website and claim from a smart contract, most XRPL airdrops are sent directly to your wallet. If you qualify, the tokens simply appear in your balance, provided you already have a trustline set for that token.
How to Check Eligibility

Check project announcements on X/Twitter and community channels for snapshot dates and specific requirements. Each project sets its own criteria. Some require only a trustline, while others require holding a minimum XRP balance or specific tokens.

When you discover a promising new project, set a trustline before any announced snapshot. Setting a trustline costs only 0.2 XRP in reserves and is the most common eligibility requirement.

Stay active
The more active your wallet (trustlines, trading history, LP positions in AMM pools), the more likely you are to qualify for airdrops that reward engaged participants.
